Sts. Vartanantz Endowment Fund
YOUR CHURCH, YOUR FUTURE, ENGAGE
Let’s Start Building Our Future! Sts. Vartanantz Church has, for generations, been the bedrock of our Armenian community and the cornerstone of our family life. We have raised our families and social lives around Sunday School, Armenian School, the annual church bazaar, and the various organizational activities that are the common bond that we have to our church and one another. Our membership has articulated a desire to perpetuate and strengthen this theme for the coming generations. At the 2006 annual parishioner’s meeting, the Long Range Planning Committee presented a plan to address the future of our community. The plan contained recommendations for building renovations and upgrades, a preschool, property acquisitions for elder housing, additional parking and other church uses. The critical component of the plan was creating a strong financial structure to support the monetary demands of our current and expanded needs. In light of this, the Board of Trustees has recommended, and the parishioner’s have decided, to establish an endowment fund to ensure the growth and longevity of the church. The objective of our endowment fund is to provide our church with vision and direction for the future by underwriting significantly the plan presented by the Long Range Planning Committee at the 2006 annual meeting of the members. Our endowment fund will provide financial stability, vitality and the means to support our vision. The endowment fund embodies the future of our church and it should inspire future parishioners with goals and objectives. Now is the time to make your investment in the future of our church. Through the efforts of the Rev. Gomidas Baghsarian, the Board of Trustees, the Long Range Planning Committee Planning Committee, the Endowment Fund Committee and the Fund Committee, a comprehensive policy statement has been created and approved to govern the management of donations made to the endowment fund. Your donations will be held in the fund in perpetuity and the church will enjoy annual payments from the fund, also in perpetuity. Your contribution will be added to the fund value and will increase through the investments made with the fund. Your donation will grow with the fund and benefit the church for generations in perpetuity. We are announcing our goal of $2,000,000.00 which we project we will realize over a five year period. Each member of our community is invited to participate by making a pledge or contribution to the best of their ability. The gift of each and every family is integral to the success of our endowment fund and ultimately the survival of our church community. Specifically, each family is asked to consider making a pledge of $1,000 or more payable over the next five years. This pledge may be paid with a $200 down payment and then in annual installments of $200 for the next four years. This breaks down to less than $.55 per day. You may hear the phrase “equal sacrifice, not equal gift” as we ask everyone to consider a sacrificial gift to make this project a success. Our community has indeed shared in God’s blessings. We turn to you, our families, because your special generosity is vital. Please pray for the success of our project and give consideration toward making a generous and sacrificial pledge to this vital effort. As a community, we have a responsibility to the next generation of parishioners to build upon the legacy left to us. Join the cause to perpetuate our faith, our culture, and community-life and to build the future for generations to come!
