As You Make Your Pledge, Please Remember . . .
· Complete a pledge card. · Payments may be made over a period of 5 years. A longer period can be arranged if necessary. · Payment reminders and a special payment envelope will be mailed to you in accordance with the payment plan you choose. · Pledge payments are fully deductible for tax purposes. · Please make checks payable to: Sts. Your Gift Can Be Given In Memory Or Honor Of A Loved One
Memorials are special ways of honoring the people we love, whether they are living or deceased. These memorials are often made for a special intention or in the thanksgiving for blessings received from God. Memorial items can be made in honor of almost any suggestion a donor deems worthy.
Our endowment fund will be a living memorial. Those who help in building it will leave something to the community itself that will be used by generations to come. The good they do is not interred with them, but will remain to share in the divine activity of God here on earth.
Those contributing $10,000 or more will have the opportunity to make their pledge in the memory or honor of a loved one as a lasting tribute to honor the sacrifices our parishioners generously made. All donors, no matter what the amount of their contribution, will be recognized by publication at least annually.
Tax Advantages Of Thoughtful Giving
Federal and state laws on income and inheritance taxes encourage charitable giving. All contributions to our campaign are tax deductible for those who itemize their deductions.
It is particularly advantageous for some people to contribute appreciated securities and stocks. The current fair market value of securities or stock is deductible and by transferring these assets to the church and allowing the church to cash out the item, the donor pays no capital gains tax. In these cases, THE ITEM MUST BE TRANSFERRED TO THE CHURCH BEFORE BEING CASHED OUT IN ORDER FOR THE DONOR TO RECEIVE THE FULL TAX DEDUCTION. In many cases, the tax savings are more that your investment in the gift.
Because each situation is unique, we urge you to discuss such donations with your family. You may also wish to discuss it with your financial advisor.
Matching Gifts
Many members of the Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church Community may be employees or retirees of companies, which have a matching gifts program. A matching gift program may allow a donor to double or triple the size of the pledge through employer contributions.
Simply contact your personnel office for the appropriate form, complete the donor portion and then forward the form with your pledge card to the campaign office. We will then complete the form, return it to the company and watch your generosity grow!
Your Decision To Give
No one can tell you how much you should give. The individual/family is the only one who actually decides what to contribute, since the financial obligations of each individual/family are different. What you give will be held in the strictest confidence, at your request.
This is our church and only through sacrifice can we achieve our goals. All contributions from the smallest to the largest will be gratefully appreciated. Your decision is a personal one. It should be made in good conscience and in true Christian spirit.
